The Dean鈥檚 Office has awarded twenty-three students with scholarships to continue their studies in the College of Business and Public Policy (CBPP). Recipients are selected by CBPP鈥檚 Scholarship Committee on the basis of merit, talent, or leadership/community involvement.
Dr. Diane Hirshberg has been named Vice-President Academic of the University of the Arctic (UArctic), a collaborative network of universities, colleges, and other organizations committed to higher education and research in the North. In this role Hirshberg plans to highlight some of UArctic鈥檚 exceptional academic programming, identify best practices for offering academic opportunities and increase those offerings.
The rank of Staff Emerita was conferred upon Pat Moores and Fannie Slaten during 暗网视频commencement ceremonies earlier in December. This high honor is in recognition of distinguished careers at the 暗网视频, and was recommended by their colleagues with the concurrence of the Chancellor鈥檚 Cabinet. Both Pat and Fannie retired this year after long service with the College of Business and Public Policy.
As part of their participation in the Tom Case Leadership Fellows program, students create and lead a community service project in our community that is meaningful to them. This year, one of the students groups has organized a food and fund drive to benefit youth who rely on Boys & Girls Clubs for nutritious meals.
A new book by Interim Dean Dr. John Nofsinger has been named a Finalist in the American Book Fest鈥檚 annual 鈥淏est Book Awards鈥� in the Personal Finance/Investing category.
